you will find me
You will find me.
Lying on my back under the moonlit sky,
Talking to the stars,
flirting with the moon,
bathing myself with the breeze flowing around,
out of the world,
may be at a beach,
or a riverbank
or a meadow
in Andamans or Himachal
or is it Meghalaya
or the tea gardens of Ooty or Darjeeling?
You will find me
on the streets of kolkata,
ransacking bookshops on College Street,
munching peanuts in Book Fair at Maidan,
Is it late winter,
or early spring?
Jostling myself with the sea of humanity
at the sealdah station
trying to get into, which is called a local train.
You will find me,
in the slums of Rasoolpura.
Administering medicines
to the rickety hands of a malnourished baby,
or handing out multivitamin tablets
to a underage mother, suffering from anemia
on the way to her second pregnancy,
or is it third?
You will find me
at the medical camp
for the AIDS affected children.
Playing God to these children
smiling with them
telling stories to them
listening stories from them
Who are doomed to die
for none of their fault.
You will find me
Soaking myself in the drenching rain
on the banks of Ganga, Narmada or Kaveri
at Haridwar or Rishikesh
or is it Chitrakoot, Jabbalpur or Tala kaveri.
washing away the sins of myself
and fellow human beings.
